ok, what's fascinating and well, obnoxious about hearing these arguments about the "validity" or need or even the definition of critical race theory is, sigh....people (mostly white liberals) think its "new" because its new to them. They did this with jazz music, hip hop music and hip hop dance which have been seeped in the black community for eons. BUT because "they discovered it" at some point, and found a use for it, either monitarily or politically, there NOW needs to be endless commentary, complete with papers and conferences written by "new" scholars, embracing FACTS and all to prove what it is and "how it affects people" meaning...again, white people.

Critical race theory which was actually just called critical theory came about in the 1970!! at universities but mostly just within black scholars' circles, FOR black people and black intellectuals to RUN THE BLACK COMMUNITY OURSELVES. Yes, back in the day, before Clinton decided he was the first black president, white people weren't interested in what we were doing so there are hundreds of books and actual BLACK experts out there from the 1960s to 1990s. None of the critical cace theorists out there today, give these people credit. This is complete bullsh*t. Its like white people claiming that Elvis Presley invented....anything when he stayed in the black community STEALING from those artists and using their work and creativity as his own to get rich, famous and tout himself as the expert. Much like DiAngelo and White Fragility today. Because now, white liberals are comfortable enough (economically and socially) to reach down and feel guilty about underrpresented groups, they're suddenly listening and embracing ideologies and beliefs the the black community has had since...again late 1950s early 1960s to five minutes ago.

Its infuriating because white people who have a "meh" knowledge of critical race theory, clearly DON'T DO ANY RESEARCH and again think this is NEW and REVOLUTIONARY, when its been out, known and written about for decades by a community that you people ignore and think are too stupid to have an intelligentsia. Would you discuss the validity of sickle cell treatments in the same way? Do you have sickle cell? do you know what it is? Do you know what the treatment for it is? no...? because it overwhelmingly affects a black community , you mean you don't want to have some say in how that's handled?

I'm irritated because Critical "Race" theory was never about white people implementing it, or discussing its validity. It was developed again FOR black people, BY black scholars, to help BLACK people RUN their own communities outside and in spite of what white people thought of or were doing. Teaching it on a super wide scale to white kids in schools wasn't part of the original plan and now, its just mired in an intellectual game as to whether it even exists or not. Nice job white liberals, thanks

Below is the link to ONE paper (of thousands), that begins to outline what critical race theory ACTUALLY is, who ACTUALLY developed it, and what is was ACTUALLY supposed to do.

The fact that progressives have twisted it to scare and bash white people they don't like was never its purpose. And like everything activists touch, its twisted, threatening and undermining what its purpose is AND who this ideology is supposed to help.
