THIS! thank you for THIS. I had a conversation with one of my students who "scolded" me for being suspecious of white people who adopt black children. Angelina Jolie's walking through an African village, "shopping" for a child to save just irks me to no end! Black children are not virtue projects for white people, but I digress.

Also, thank you for encouraging white people who adopt black children to engage the black community. Black people NEED other black people, just because they don't have the means or ideology or priviledges white people do does not mean we don't miss or need OUR OWN people.
